Technology

The application of our machine systems enables:
  • the processing of naturally shaped or loaf-type feedstock – sausage, ham, bacon and cheese – into equalised sliced portions in the form of light, medium and heavy -weight single- and multi-component portions,
  • a production ‘on-weight’ result of almost 100 %, as the line-laser-system and scales connected to the slicer already compute and predict the slicing parameters prior to cutting,
  • the production of portions with slices and/or pieces in finished packages - made from flexible or rigid film,
  • the production of saleable, transportable single and multiple sales units for supermarkets and stores.

Via computer-controlled line logistics chain
With extremely high production rates and minimum personnel required, the machines produce ready-to-sell soft and hard film prepackages for supermarkets and food shops. The machines are designed to slice both bar-shaped and round loaves of sausage, ham, bacon, meat and cheese into portions of exactly the same weight that can include one or more different components. Upstream feeding systems are used to manually or automatically supply the product loaves to the slicing machine. After being sliced and weighed, the finished portions are automatically fed into the packing machine.

The computer-controlled machine system ensures
an on-weight output rate of almost 100%.
The weight of the portions is permanently checked as each portion is weighed once more after being sliced. Any deviation is immediately corrected by feedback control.
A touch screen panel with graphic user interface allows for an easy and intuitive operation of the machine. The operators use this touch screen to create their product-specific slicing programs.
A great variety of machine-dependent functions can be defined by means of parameters.
Thus, later modifications or add-ons to the machine often do not require any software updates.
All machines may be connected to a local company network via Ethernet.

The Schiwa-machine logistics chain
will a unit for the entire production process and consists of highly developed hardware, procedural technology and software in combination with a world-wide Schiwa-machine service network. With this service network we can intervene and assist world- wide, via our interfaces, directly into line and parameter adjustments, line programs, line errors and production at site.
