Short portrait

Schindler & Wagner is a global family-run business having specialized, for more than 45 years now, in both standard and custom-designed slicing and packaging machines to process sausage, ham, bacon, meat and cheese products.

It all began in 1964/1965 when business founder Manfred O. Schindler developed the first electronic scale.
Following two years of research and development, this weighing system was a novelty in Europe and superior to any type of scales known and used at that time. Furthermore, this electronic weighing system could be used in all other industrial areas.
Over the course of time, this original weighing system has been developed into a high-tech combination of slicing and weighing machine that is able to produce precisely sliced and weighed portions of ham and cheese.

As a result, we have continuously increased the number of employees and extended our range of products as well as our manufacturing plants and business premises. Nowadays, more than 100 employees develop and manufacture these special-purpose machines.

In October 2005, the AMI International Meat, Poultry & Seafood Industry Exposition in Chicago saw the first presentation of an entirely new control system for Schiwa's machines.

As the market leader in customized slicing and packaging machines for sausage, ham, bacon, meat and cheese products, we put special emphasis on the accuracy and efficiency of our machines as well as on continuous technical development.

  • We conceptualise,
  • we design,
  • we manufacture,
  • we assemble,
  • we test,
  • we install,
  • we keep our machine systems ready for use on a daily basis,
  • we care for and support our customers via our worldwide service-network - at present as well as in the future.

Many of our machine units and single function devices have been patented and thus confirm our ongoing and successful programme of research and development.
